MELIES genre 1902
More of a fantasy than a sci-fi film.
METROPOLIS (1927) was the first significant film of this genre.
MECHTE NAVSTRECHU (1963) also seen in Roger Corman production
This set was also seen in QUEEN OF BLOOD (1966)
Television release was named PLANET OF BLOOD, both cheap sensationalist titles that helped to bury this film. There was practically no "blood" in the movie which itself was an excellent job due to Corman's editing.
Textbook example of "bad title, great movie".
