PLANET EARTH (1974)

Creator of Star Trek's "Brave New World" attempt where Lurch walks lions
outside of futuristic cities.....cool sub-shuttle too.

TARANTULA (1955)

SHEER 1950S HORROR which by today's standards might equate
to rebecca-of-sunnybrook-farm but that spider is "real" not just CGI

NOTE to Blogger: Your random-selection video thumbnail does absolutely nothing
to enrich our presentation. PLEASE give me selective control of the thumbnails

Maybe one in every 40 random thumbnail selections succeed in presenting the

1950s Earth: "It's a sunny day everywhere!"

A few "discrepancies" can be noted here.
Florida is too small, California looks funny,
and Cape Cod doesn't seem to exist!

U.S.S. ENTERPRISE

EQUINOX (1970) another rare movie

THIS MOVIE was always seen advertised in some way in Famous Monsters Of Filmland
back in the early 70s.

It was filmed in 16mm (death knell for picture quality), enlarged to 35mm
and it was very poorly lit, especially in the monster scenes.
NICE work on Equinox monster itself was blurred and shaded badly.

FUNNY

Nat'l Lampoon c.1974
The chase hat tells them
"This is an authority figure you're talking to here, Mister!"
Get yours today.....DON'T COP-OUT!

Here's another poster I like.

This one actually has Jeffery Hunter & France Nuyen,
both formerly of Star Trek.

Is he wearing a bowtie?

NO ONE who wears bow-ties should handle nuclear material.
Pee-Wee Herman wore a bow tie.

VERY rare sci-fi from the 60s, hardly ever seen

This movie was BURIED deliberately!
Think about it: American & Russian forces team up to recover a UFO on Chinese territory.
This was released in 1968, a terrible year in U.S. history for political & social tension.

EXCELLENT movie, great special effects for the time & after it
was released in theaters it was practically never heard of again
until Internet influence became explosively popular years later.

POSSIBLY a combination of circumstances and the arrangement of
political "powers that be" made this good movie dwindle into obscurity.

The Bamboo Saucer (1968)

Also: having "bamboo" in the title probably didn't help matters sales-wise either.
Bamboo is not a strong-selling term, especially for sci-fi.
If anything, bamboo probably reminded people of Gilligan's Island.

This movie got great reviews on IMDB

AVRO fake UFO.....wannabee UFO

Doesn't it look like it's about to come crashing down on the guy's head?
Seriously it looks like it could slide right down.
That stand looks kinda flimsy too.
BTW...this photo is probably 50yrs old. Where the hell is my flying car?

ATTACK KITTY

She swatted one of Robby paws off & she's back for more!

Chesley Bonestell

Revell Space Age Model Kits 50s

GENTLEMAN, properly dressed

GREAT pick of colors, this guy knows good fashion!

A.I. raises Gorillas to company-level command!

 "I'm calling my Recruiter today!"

"The poster sells the movie".....Samuel Z. Arkoff

Godzilla & FP have terrific detail, real nice

LOTS of detail in these + cool things to read & see
